Dandut singer Taufiq LIDA described the condition of his hometown in Aceh which was affected by floods and landslides. According to him, the disaster that hit a number of areas in northern Sumatra caused major damage and claimed lives.
Taufiq said that the aid received so far is still far from enough to handle the conditions there.
“With such a big disaster, there is very little aid. That’s why many regents have raised the white flag because of their inability to handle this disaster,” said Taufiq LIDA when met on Jalan Captain P Tendean, South Jakarta, Friday (5/12/2025).

When asked about the biggest obstacle in the process of distributing aid. Taufiq said logistics is something that must be prioritized.
“Logistics. Logistics and maybe fuel oil because many roads are cut off, including the bridges connecting the Banda Aceh road,” he said.
Apart from that, he said the condition of the people in the affected areas, especially vulnerable groups, was very worrying. There are still locations far from the city that have not been reached by aid.
“The condition of the children, some of whom had not yet been reached with aid, were very hungry, they ate whatever they had. Then, the entire house was covered with soil and became new land,” he said.

According to Taufiq, apart from food, other urgent needs are communication signals and temporary shelter for the victims. “Signals, networks. Networks that are difficult are networks, logistics and housing,” he said.

Taufiq assesses that the government’s response varies in each region. “We really appreciate the governor himself, his work is extraordinary, and there are also several regents who are extraordinary and very quick in dealing with this disaster, but there are some who are missing, not in their place,” said Taufiq.

“The message to all Indonesian people who witnessed how frightening the natural disaster that occurred in Sumatra is, hopefully they can channel their aid to donations that are clear and trustworthy, because they can reach the people directly,” said the dangdut singer who graduated from the talent search event.
