Persija Jakarta Starts Second Round with Sweet Results, Silences Madura United

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Persija Jakarta started the second round of the BRI Super League 2025/2026, after silencing their guests, Madura United with a score of 2-1.

This positive achievement is of course a happy thing for the Kemayoran Tigers. He is now back to winning ways.

Interestingly, Persija Jakarta’s victory was obtained through two penalties from Gustavo Almeida and Maxwell Souza. The penalty also brought victory for Persija who played at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta.

In this match, Persija coach Mauricio Souza immediately included two new players in the squad, after Alaaeddine Ajaraie and Fajar Fathurrahman were on the bench.

Paulo Ricardo and also the player who was just announced this afternoon, Shayne Pattynama, are not included in the squad.

Shayne was seen watching live in the SUGBK VIP stands with the Indonesian national team coach, John Herdman.

The Kemayoran Tigers had difficulty dismantling Madura’s tight defense at the start of the match. Witan Sulaeman only created a dangerous opportunity for them in the 28th minute, when he was free from the left side, but his right foot shot was weak, so it was easily caught by the visiting team goalkeeper, Mochammad Indrayana.

Witan’s opportunity marked Persija as having been able to find a gap in Madura’s defense. In the 30th minute, Allano kicked with his left foot, but it still went up.

Two minutes later, Maxwell executed a hard horizontal kick with his right foot. Unfortunately, the Brazilian player’s kick was blocked by Indrayana.
