Police arrested a teenager from Jombang, East Java, named Wildan Alfarizi (17). The reason was that the teenager used play money to top up his digital wallet balance.
Reported by detikJatim, Wednesday (17/6/2026), Wildan’s actions were discovered after the Manyar Police Criminal Investigation Unit received a report from Muzayyanah. Through the 110 call center, the shop owner reported the perpetrator because he was suspicious because of his strange movements.
“This perpetrator topped up his digital money balance worth Rp. 400 thousand. However, the victim was suspicious of the strange form of money. Because he was suspicious, the victim reported it to 110,” said Manyar Police Chief Inspector Muhammad Gifari Syarifuddin, Tuesday (16/6).
Receiving the report, members of the Manyar Police immediately went to the location to carry out an inspection. From the results of the checks, the police found that the bills used by the perpetrator to pay the top up were actually play money.
“When we interrogated him, he got the play money from an online buying and selling application that sells play money,” he said.
During the investigation, the police also found a total of 46 counterfeit notes in the perpetrator’s boarding house. 23 denominations of IDR 100 thousand each, and 23 denominations of IDR 50 thousand.
