“The restoration of the electricity system in the Aceh subsystem area is currently still unstable, which has resulted in the network experiencing blackouts again in several areas,” said PLN UID Aceh Communication & TJSL Manager Lukman Hakim as reported by detiksumutTuesday (26/5/2026).
According to him, as a handling step, currently PLN is optimizing the use of Diesel Power Plants (PLTD) to help support the electricity load. PLN apologized for the blackout that occurred.
“We are committed to making maximum efforts by deploying a standby team that is deployed 24 hours a day in the field so that the electricity system can be fully restored immediately,” explained Lukman.
It is known that electricity in several areas in Aceh went out again tonight. The lights flickered before finally turning off.
The electricity went out again at around 19.24 WIB, Monday (25/5). The lights went ‘disco’ for a few seconds before going out completely.
Residents felt power outages in Aceh Besar, Banda Aceh, Pidie, North Aceh and several other areas.
