Viral Statement Comparing teachers with traders, Nasaruddin Umar immediately apologize

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Minister of Religion (Menag), Nasaruddin Umar did not take long to immediately convey an apology after realizing his statement to get a different interpretation from the teacher.

Previously, during the speech at the opening of the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Batch 3 period 2025 on Wednesday (3/9), Nasaruddin Umar had a chance to compare the teaching profession with traders. The event, which was attended by hundreds of teachers, was held at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

Initially, Nasaruddin mentioned that the teacher was a noble profession. Even according to him, the teacher must be holy on earth and in the sky. Because of the noble teacher profession, he said the teacher entered heaven earlier than the others.

He then alluded to the profession of teacher and traders. The point is that the orientation trader is looking for financial benefits. Different from the teacher. So if there are teachers who are still oriented to find money, you should be a trader.

Suddenly the statement received a variety of responses from the public. The reason is that many teachers have earned income far from decent. Especially teachers whose status is still honorary.

The statement was quickly viral on social media. Nasaruddin immediately conveyed clarification as well as an apology. Related to the video pieces of his statement which had caused a different interpretation of the teacher’s profession.

He realized that my piece of statement about the teacher raises inappropriate interpretations and hurt the feelings of some teachers. “For that, I apologize profusely,” he said (3/9).
