FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The polemic regarding the alleged fake diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is getting increasingly murky. Roy Suryo, Rismon Sianipar, Doctor Tifa, et al were named as suspects.
UGM’s statement regarding the authenticity of the seventh president’s diploma was not even able to quell the barrage of accusations that Jokowi’s diploma was fake. Jokowi even revealed his suspicion that there was a big political agenda, through this accusation.
A number of parties consider this diploma issue trivial and simple. Just show the diploma which is claimed to be genuine, the problem is solved.
However, Jokowi remains adamant in his refusal to show the original diploma documents. He emphasized that the public has no authority to regulate him to show his original Bachelor’s degree from Gadjah Mada University (UGM).
The former Mayor of Solo also believes that he has no obligation to show original diplomas to parties who are not legally authorized.
Jokowi stated this after a meeting with representatives of the Ulama and Activist Defense Team (TPUA) who visited his residence on Jalan Kutai Utara, Sumber Village, Banjarsari District, Solo City, Central Java.
“They asked me to show the original diploma. I told them that I had no obligation to show it to them,” stressed Jokowi.
“They have no authority to direct me to show the original diploma that I have,” he continued.
He said that UGM had also conveyed a strong confirmation regarding the diploma.
“It is very clear, yesterday at UGM we gave a clear and clear explanation,” he said.
