Unismuh student hit by bow in the eye while filming OTK attack, here’s the chronology

FAJAR.CO.ID, MAKASSAR — After many attacks by groups of unknown people (OTK) on Thursday (30/10/2025), the Unismuh Campus finally opened their voices.

Head of Sub-Directorate for Public Relations and Protocol at Unismuh Makassar, Hadi Saputra, confirmed that the attack occurred around the time of Ashar prayers.

“The incident started when Asar prayers were being held at the campus mosque,” said Hadi to dawn.co.id, Saturday (1/11/2025).

As told by Hadi, a group of OTK, numbering around 14 people, entered the campus area on foot.

“Based on CCTV camera monitoring, they did not come in groups or use vehicles,” he said.

He said that the OTK entered without showing a sharp weapon or covering his face, so his whereabouts were not immediately monitored by security officers.

“From CCTV footage, the group passed under the Convention Hall and gathered before heading to the student organization secretariat area,” he added.

Hadi suspects that the OTK group may have worn face coverings while on campus and planned the attack.

“The main target of this group is thought to be an intra-campus student organization,” he said.

When he arrived at the location, Hadi continued, the OTK did not find members of the student organization that was the target.

“However, around that place there are several Forestry Study Program students whose secretariat is close by,” said Hadi.

“It is suspected that there was a misunderstanding, which resulted in the beating of one of the Forestry students (MS, 22 years old) and he suffered an injury to his right temple,” he added.
