FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Digital forensic expert, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, called for forced discharge or dismissal of Gibran Rakabuming Raka from his position as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.

The discourse of the ampening of the Vice President Gibran is actually not a new thing voiced by a group of people. Shortly after being inaugurated as Vice President, Joko Widodo’s eldest son has been undermined the issue of impeachment.

Before Rismon doubted the Gibran diploma, the call for Gibran was removed to the public sphere following a statement of the attitude of the TNI Retired Forum which highlighted his nomination process in the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres).

“Makzrakan Gibran! Graduated from SMK from university!” Rismon’s chatter through his personal X account, quoted on Friday (9/19/2025).

Responding to the insistence of impeachment of Gibran, a Constitutional Law Expert from the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, Dr. Yance Arizona explained the request for the dismissal of Vice President Gibran by the TNI Retired Forum to the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) or by Rismon Sianipar does not yet have an adequate legal basis.

Because he said, in the Indonesian constitutional system, each process of impeachment must run based on constitutional provisions and not solely driven by political opinions or pressure.

Therefore, it is important to distinguish between symbolic politics and legal mechanisms that can truly be taken.

“The arguments are also not so solid. Not necessarily this is indeed a legal process that is being rolled out, but it could be a political process that actually makes the spotlight of media reported to the Vice President Gibran,” Yance explained in his statement as reported by the official UGM website.
