FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — PSM Makassar had to suffer another defeat in the 2025-2026 Super League season.
In the 22nd match week, PSM Makassar had to recognize the superiority of host Persija Jakarta.
The match which took place at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Friday (20/2/2026) ended with a score of 2-1 for the Persija Jakarta team.
Persija Jakarta managed to take the lead through a goal scored by Ajaraie in the 30th minute
Before finally the visiting team PSM Makassar managed to equalize seven minutes later in the 37th minute through a goal from their new striker, Sheriddin Boboev.
And the winning goal came in the second half through Persija’s foreign striker, Maxwell in the 67th minute.
The Course of the Match
Since the first minutes of the match, the home team, Persija, appeared to dominate with several opportunities being created.
Until 10 minutes into the game, PSM had almost no chances. The efforts made were wasted because of the wrong pass.
PSM got the first golden opportunity in the 15th minute. Alex Tanque’s volley was still off target after receiving a pass from Rizky Eka Pratama.
Five minutes later PSM got another chance. Aloisio Neto’s shot hit the body of a Persija defender.

Entering the second half, Persija Jakarta again appeared to be pressing like they did in the first half.
In the 53rd minute, Allano’s pass to Maxwell created ideal shooting space, unfortunately the ball still bounced.
In the 55th minute, Aladin tried his luck with a hard kick from outside the penalty box.
Once again, Reza Arya appeared alert to secure his goal. Persija’s dominance was clearly visible through ball control and the increasing intensity of pressure.
Gustavo scored a goal, but the referee annulled it after checking VAR, so the score remained unchanged.
The long-awaited goal finally arrived in the 67th minute. And brought Persija back to excellence.
Reza Arya’s kick, which was intended to send the ball forward, actually aimed at Maxwell.
Without hesitation, Maxwell, who got the golden opportunity, immediately headed the ball which resulted in a goal.
Being left behind made coach Tomas Trucha try everything to get back to equalizing the score.
Until the 85th minute, PSM Makassar, who were trying to catch up, reached a dead end.
The referee also failed to use the additional five minutes of time given by the referee, scoring 2-1 for Persija’s victory in this match.
