FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Jakarta Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) or Whoosh project is suspected by a number of parties to be full of corrupt practices. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has even investigated the case.
In fact, for the land procurement process for the whoosh project, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) has dared to confirm that there were criminal acts of corruption in the land procurement process for the high-speed train.
One method is that state-owned land is then sold for the project. There are allegations that large funds flowed to certain parties in acquiring the land.
“There are individuals who should have owned the state, but sold it back to the state,” said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, Monday (10/11).
Asep explained that it was suspected that the state-owned land was not being sold at market prices.
“Even higher. In fact, the land belongs to the state because it is used for government projects, so the state should not have to pay to use the land,” he stressed.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is currently investigating the irregular land acquisition for Whoosh. “If the payment is reasonable, then we will not take a case. However, for those whose payments are not reasonable, mark ups, etc., what’s more, it’s not their land, it’s state land, in various ways, because this is a national project, then it is regulated here and there, so that they get a certain amount of money, not another amount, this is big money, so we have to return the money to the state,” explained Asep.
