Police’s Rubicon luxury car goes viral with hanging plates, only to be reprimanded by traffic director

FAJAR.CO.ID, MAKASSAR — After going viral for the last few days, the Makassar Police Traffic Unit took action against the owner of the luxury Jeep Rubicon car who was known to be a police officer.

Makassar Police Traffic Unit Head, AKBP Andi Husnaeni, confirmed that the owner of the car was AKP H. Ramli.

Husnaeni said that the action given was in the form of a sympathetic warning because the violation committed was minor.

“Yes, he has been reprimanded sympathetically, and a ticket can also be issued, the person concerned has admitted that it was his car, and has immediately changed the plates,” said Husnaeni (13/10/2025).

Husnaeni explained that a sympathetic warning is a form of law enforcement with an educational and humanist approach.

In this mechanism, officers provide advice and advice to motorists without issuing a ticket, as long as the violation is not considered serious.

This action, he continued, is also part of the National Police’s efforts to raise awareness of orderly traffic in the community.

This step was given to AKP Ramli because the vehicle he used had valid administrative equipment, including the Motor Vehicle Registration Certificate (TNKB) document.

“He (AKP H Ramli) admitted that it was his car and there was no intention (of using fake plates), the car had complete documents. He was politely reprimanded to replace the plates and that day they were immediately (replaced),” Husnaeni said.

Even so, he still emphasized that people should not use number plates that do not comply with the provisions.
