FAJAR.CO.ID, CENTRAL TAPANULI — After the flash floods and landslides that hit the Onon Tukka area, Tukka District, Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra, residents still face serious limitations in accessing health services.
Ward 3 Onon Tukka was recorded as one of the areas worst affected by the disaster, with around 550 families experiencing direct impacts.
Responding to this condition, the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) Makassar Medical Assistance Volunteer Team went directly to the location and set up an emergency health post on Sunday (14/12/2025).
The presence of this medical team is a new hope for residents who have had difficulty getting health services for some time.
An emergency health post was established in Ward 3 Onon Tukka, right next to the Tukka Community Health Center which until now has not been able to function due to heavy post-disaster damage.
In previous emergency situations, local residents were even forced to open the community health center to take medicines and basic medical equipment to meet urgent needs.
Through this post, the UMI Makassar Medical Assistance Volunteer Team provides free examination and treatment services to the community, with a main focus on vulnerable groups such as toddlers and the elderly.
It was recorded that 90 residents received medical services with the most common complaints being acute respiratory infections (ARI), diarrhea and skin infections.
The services provided include general health checks, monitoring the physical condition of the elderly, health checks for children and toddlers, and administering medicines according to medical indications.
