FAJAR.CO.ID, BANDA ACEH – Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Tomsi Tohir revealed, the economy of Aceh Province in the first quarter of 2025 grew by 4.59 percent year on year. According to him, this number still has great potential to continue to grow. Because, based on data from the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), the economy of Aceh Province is predicted to grow by 6.6 percent in 2029.
“When compared to Riau, Babel and several other provinces still have a much brighter hope,” he said in the Development Planning Conference (Musrenbang) of the Aceh Medium -Term Development Plan (RPJMA) in 2025-2029 at Anjong Mon Mata, Banda Aceh City, Wednesday (9/7/2025).
He said, efforts to encourage economic growth could be done by accelerating the realization of spending, which would increase the circulation of money in the community. Based on data from the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Regional Finance Development (Keuda), the percentage of the realization of the Aceh Province Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) is still 25.45 percent, while the average national province is at 27.04 percent.
“If the position of Aceh is still safe and is expected to spend more speeding, this will even encourage economic growth in Aceh which is much better,” he said.
In addition, Tomsi highlighted the inflation rate of Aceh Province in June 2025 which was recorded at 2.19 percent. This figure is slightly higher than the national inflation which is at 1.87 percent. Responding to this, he asked the local government (Pemda) to immediately take strategic steps. Because the high inflation has the potential to reduce the purchasing power of the people, mainly because it is directly related to the price of basic needs.
