Polda Metro Jaya detained Dr. Richard Lee. The detention was carried out after Richard Lee underwent examination as a suspect in a case of alleged consumer protection violations related to beauty products and services.
“The suspect DRL was detained at 21.50 WIB at the Polda Metro Jaya Detention Center,” said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Budi Hermanto, in his statement, Friday (6/3/2026).
Budi said Richard Lee was examined for 4 hours from 13.00 WIB to 17.00 WIB. A total of 29 questions were asked of him. A number of procedures were carried out before Richard Lee was detained.

“Before carrying out the detention, the suspect underwent a health check by Biddokes Polda Metro Jaya including checking blood pressure, saturation and body temperature with normal results and was able to carry out activities as usual,” he said.
“Before the detention was carried out, the suspect’s personal belongings which were not related to the investigative evidence process had been entrusted to the attorney,” added Budi.
It is known that Richard Lee underwent his initial examination as a suspect on Wednesday (7/1). Richard Lee was also questioned on Thursday (19/2) from 10.40 WIB to 19.00 WIB.

Richard Lee was asked 35 questions. After the examination process, Richard Lee was allowed to go home at around 22.30 WIB.

Richard Lee is known to be suing Polda Metro Jaya for naming him as a suspect in a case of alleged consumer protection violations related to beauty products and services reported by the doctif. South Jakarta District Court single judge Esthar Oktavi stated that Richard Lee’s pretrial request could not be granted.
“Rejected the Petitioner’s pretrial request. Charged the state court costs of nil,” said chief judge Esthar Oktavi in ​​the decision at the South Jakarta District Court.
