The Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (Danantara) together with dozens of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) including PT PLN (Persero) distributed humanitarian aid. This assistance was provided to support the recovery of disaster-affected communities in Aceh Province.
Danantara’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of the BUMN Regulatory Agency, Dony Oskaria, in his direction expressed his appreciation to all BUMN employees who had worked directly as volunteers to help communities affected by the disaster.
He emphasized that the presence of BUMN in every emergency situation is a form of responsibility and moral obligation, considering that BUMN belongs to the Indonesian people.
“BUMN belongs to the Indonesian people. Therefore, whenever the people need it, our presence is not a choice, but an obligation. Since the beginning of the disaster, we have emphasized that the presence of BUMN is not just a complement, but is a form of responsibility as a state-owned company,” said Dony, in a written statement, Saturday (20/12/2025).
This was conveyed during the Call for the Release of BUMN Caring Volunteers in Kualanamu, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra before aid and volunteers were distributed to affected locations in Aceh, on Friday (19/12).
Under Danantara’s coordination, the aid distributed by dozens of state-owned companies includes a fleet of 109 trucks containing basic emergency response needs. Apart from that, as many as 1,066 volunteers were deployed to accelerate recovery in the Sumatra region, especially Aceh Province.
Dony emphasized that this humanitarian action was carried out in a real way and had a direct impact on the ground, not just symbolic. He expressed his pride in the involvement of BUMN volunteers who were directly involved in helping the community, in line with the President’s direction to be present to work with the people in improving post-disaster conditions.
“I feel proud to see more than a thousand BUMN employees who are willing to work directly as volunteers to help affected communities. At the same time, I appreciate the hard work of BUMN colleagues who continue to ensure basic services continue to run for communities in affected areas,” he added.
Furthermore, Dony emphasized that state-owned companies which have a vital role in the basic needs of society, including the electricity sector, must make post-disaster management a top priority.
He especially appreciated PLN for working day and night to provide electricity solutions for affected communities.
“For my friends at PLN, I saw firsthand how they are struggling non-stop. Our priority today is how to provide electricity solutions for all people who need them,” stressed Dony.
On this occasion, PLN also contributed by distributing various logistical assistance that was really needed by the community. Assistance from PLN includes 10 clean water trucks, 6 water tower trucks, cleaning equipment, blankets and religious equipment to support the activities and comfort of residents in affected locations.
PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, emphasized that PLN’s involvement in this humanitarian action is part of the company’s social responsibility to always be present with the community, especially when facing emergency conditions.
“In addition to seeking to restore electricity as soon as possible, PLN is also distributing humanitarian assistance in the form of logistics, public kitchens, clean water and other support so that the people of Aceh can quickly get back on their feet,” said Darmawan.
Since the beginning of the disaster in the Sumatra region until now, PLN has distributed various basic needs assistance to affected communities in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra, including rice, cooking oil, sugar, instant noodles, eggs, ready-to-eat food, drinking water, baby equipment, blankets and medicine.
Apart from that, PLN also provided other supporting assistance in the form of new clothes, religious equipment, cleaning tools, water purifiers, tents, generators, clean water, rubber boats, and the opening of public kitchens at 24 points.
“We believe, by working together and strengthening each other, the aid distributed will be more targeted and the benefits will truly be felt by the affected communities,” concluded Darmawan.
