The National Police guarantees that they will not discriminate in legal and ethical proceedings against six members of the National Police Headquarters Service Unit (Yanma) who were involved in the beating of two members of debt collectors or matels in Kalibata, South Jakarta. Strict action against members who violate this is in accordance with the commitment of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
“Once again, this is a manifestation of the Chief of Police’s commitment to take firm action and is committed to improving services and protection to the community,” said Karo Penmas, National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko at Polda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, Friday (12/12/2025).
The six perpetrators were Brigadier IAM, Bripda JLA, Bripda RGW, Bripda IAB, Bripda BN, and Bripda AM. They are processed according to criminal law and the National Police’s professional code of ethics.
According to the legal process, the perpetrators have been named suspects. These six Yanma Polri members were charged under Article 170 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code.
Code of ethics investigations are also directly applied to the perpetrators. Truno said that the National Police Headquarters Propam Division had intervened to investigate the ethical violations committed by the six people.
The results of the investigation carried out by Propam Polri stated that they had committed serious violations. The perpetrators are suspected of violating Article 13 paragraph 1 of PP Number 1 of 2003 concerning the Dismissal of National Police Members in conjunction with Article 8 letter c number 1 of Perpol Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Code of Ethics Commission as well as Article 13 letter M of Perpol Number 7 of 2022.
“Based on the evidence obtained against the six alleged violators, there is sufficient evidence of alleged violations of the National Police’s professional code of ethics,” explained Truno.
An ethics trial for six members of Yanma Police Headquarters will be held next week. Truno guaranteed that the National Police would not protect the perpetrators.
“The National Police is committed to seriously disclosing criminal cases to anyone and without discrimination. The National Police will carry out the enforcement process in a transparent, professional and proportional manner and ensure that all parties involved are held accountable for their actions in accordance with applicable regulations,” said Truno.
This beating case occurred on Thursday (11/12) at 15.45 WIB in the parking area in front of TMP Kalibata. Pancoran Police initially received reports of beatings from two men.
One man with the initials MET (41) died at the location, while another victim with the initials NAT (32) died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
“Currently, of course, we are both concerned about this incident and empathize, especially with the families of the victims and victims,” said Truno.
