FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The short speech by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jokowi, at the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) National Working Meeting (Rakernas) forum in Makassar continues to reap public reactions and debate.
After being criticized by Amien Rais, now this speech is also being highlighted by social media activist Arya Prasetyo.
Jokowi’s commitment to PSI
Arya said that Jokowi’s speech stating that he would work tooth and nail to win PSI was the closing political moment in Jokowi’s journey to power.
“The Last Hurrah of Mr. Jokowi,” said Arya, quoted by dawn.co.id via his tweet on X (8/2/2026).
Arya said, this assessment was in line with the views of Amien Rais, who previously reviewed Jokowi’s speech at the PSI National Working Meeting.
“According to Amien Rais, Jokowi’s speech, which will work tooth and nail to win PSI with an angry expression, may be Jokowi’s last speech,” Arya said.
Jokowi’s last hurray
He then quoted the term used by Amien Rais to describe the situation.
“In English it is called the last hurrah,” he continued.
Arya interprets this term as the final outburst in Jokowi’s political journey.
“Let’s say it’s the last hurray of his life,” he said.
Previously, the Chairman of the Syuro Council of the Ummat Party, Amien Rais, spoke about Jokowi’s short speech at the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) National Working Meeting (Rakernas) forum in Makassar.
Amien said that Jokowi’s speech stating that he would work tooth and nail to win PSI was full of negative emotions and anxiety about facing the end of his reign.
Jokowi’s speech at the PSI National Working Meeting
“I can conclude that the speech was an expression of Jokowi’s anger, anguish and half despair at imagining his ultimate destruction,” said Amien, quoted by dawn.co.id, Sunday (8/2026).
He even said that this speech had the potential to be Jokowi’s last political appearance in public space.
“Jokowi’s speech, which will work like hell and work hard to win PSI with an angry expression, may be Jokowi’s last speech,” he continued.
Amien likened this moment to the last hurrah or last outburst before the end of power.
Jokowi first ran for office
Not stopping there, Amien also touched on Jokowi’s initial motives when running for president.
He assessed that Jokowi’s intention from the start was not to serve the nation and state.
“It is not an exaggeration if I conclude that Jokowi, who previously wanted to become president, had his intention, Nawaida, was not to serve the nation and state, no. But to mortgage it,” he added.
Amien said, Indonesia was being mortgaged for foreign interests and personal interests.
“Pawning Indonesia to outsiders and outsiders, to build nepotism is anathema, and to divide the nation, and collect as much illicit money as possible,” he stressed.
Jokowi is ready to die for PSI
When he was present at the PSI National Working Meeting in the city of Makassar, Jokowi also stated his readiness to go directly to help the party led by Kaesang Pangarep build an organizational structure.
