FAJAR.CO.ID, MAKASSAR — A tough task awaits the new PSM Makassar coach candidate in the 2025/2026 Super League.

After Bernardo Tavares resigned as PSM coach, the team management certainly moved to immediately find a replacement.

Finally, the empty seat at the head of coaching that was left by Bernardo Tavares has reportedly been found to be a replacement.

The figure of PSM’s new coach reportedly went through a long selection stage before finally being selected.

PSM Makassar team manager, Muhammad Nur Fajrin, said that this name had been fixed as the new coach.

“We have decided on a name. God willing, we will arrive in Makassar in the near future,” said Nur Fajrin.

“Then we will introduce it,” he said.

Regarding the figure of this new coach, Nur Fajrin said this coach came from Europe.

He is also known to have coaching experience in Asia and Africa. Just from his CV, the coach has never tasted the atmosphere of Indonesian football.

“Being a coach from Europe, has experience in Asia, has been in Europe and Africa,” he said.

“Never coached in the Indonesian League,” he explained.

However, the big question now arises because the task of the new PSM Makassar coach is quite difficult.

He must at least be able to lift the performance of Akbar Tanjung Cs which is currently in decline.

Judging from the bad start of the team nicknamed Juku Eja at the start of this Super League season.

Of the seven matches that have been played, PSM has only managed to achieve one victory.

In the remainder, they were only able to achieve four wins and suffered two defeats.
