FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA-The world’s empathy for the people of Gaza and Palestinian independence is getting stronger not only in Muslim countries, but also the international world.
In fact, support for Palestine received a new response after the French President Emmanuel Macron stated that his country would officially recognize Palestine as a country.
In a statement on Thursday (24/7), Macron stated that the recognition would be officially conveyed at the UN General Assembly Session, September 2025.
“In fact, in accordance with his historical commitment for fair and eternal peace in the Middle East, I have decided that France will recognize the Palestinian state,” Macron said in uploaded through social media X.
Responding to the increasingly widespread support of the Palestinian state, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) also expressed its support for the efforts of the Indonesian government in fighting for Palestinian independence.
The Chairperson of the MUI, KH Anwar Iskandar, confirmed that his party and the government always voiced justice and humanity, especially for the Palestinians.
“Through this pulpit, I want to say, there is no other word for the Ulema Council to continue to consider the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Because of what? Because of these programs and attitudes are very Islamic. Something that is Islamic must be supported by ulama,” Anwar said in the 50th MUI Milad held at the Hajj Dormitory, East Jakarta, Saturday (26/7),
Anwar also emphasized that the MUI consistently continued to voice support for the struggle of the Palestinian people. Not only in the form of statements, MUI also sent humanitarian assistance directly to the conflict area, including food and other basic needs.
