FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Distribution of aid to residents affected by floods in West Sumatra, North Sumatra and Aceh continues.
Now 15 tons of basic necessities and emergency supplies have been sent to Padang, West Sumatra; Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra; and Aceh.
This assistance comes from the DPR RI. The assistance was handed over directly by the Deputy Chairman of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta. Aid was sent using a cargo plane, on Sunday (30/11).
Dasco said that the DPR is committed to moving quickly to help people who are experiencing difficult times. That way, the basic needs of the refugees can be met.
“The People’s Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia handed over aid to Sumatra, in the form of airplane cargo which will be delivered to brothers and sisters who have experienced disasters. Which today and tomorrow will be sent to Central Tapanuli, Padang and to Aceh,” said Dasco.
This Gerindra Party politician said that the delivery of logistical aid would be escorted by Deputy Chairman of the DPR RI, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal, who also went to the disaster location. Dasco said, this assistance is in the form of basic necessities and emergency equipment for the victims.
“The contents of the cargo consist of various things, there are sarongs, sanitary napkins, Pop Noodles, blankets, biscuits, for all our brothers and sisters, bismillahirrahmanirrahim,” he added.
Dasco hopes that this assistance from the DPR can provide relief and bring benefits to communities affected by disasters. He prayed that the disaster would pass quickly.
