Fire at Puring Puring Market, 500 Kiosk Ludes, allegedly originated from a closed shop

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of the South Jakarta area reported that the Taman Puring Market fire incident, Jalan Kyai Maja, Kramat Pela Village, Kebayoran District, South Jakarta, which occurred around 18.10 WIB, Monday (7/28/2025) burned around 500 kiosks.

“There are about 500 stalls in Puring Puring Market. Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) personnel are still struggling,” explained South Jakarta BPBD personnel, Bait.

At least as many as 34 units of cars with 115 personnel of Gulkarmat were deployed to the location of the fire.

The fire allegedly came from a closed shop. There were no casualties reported. The police will do the crime scene (TKP).

“The operational time of the Taman Puring Market from 08.00 – 17.00 WIB has begun to be seen by one of the shop owners, the smoke comes out from one of the shops that has been closed in the middle,” explained South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Commissioner Nicolas Ary Lilipaly.

Until now, fire fighting activities at Taman Puring Market are still ongoing, officers expect road users to avoid traffic around Taman Puring Market to reduce density and not hamper the extinguishing and evacuation process by officers.

“We appeal to residents to avoid the direction towards Taman Puring Market,” Nicolas said.

According to the Damkar Command Center information, the burning object is a low building in the market complex.
