FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Social media activist, Eko Kuntadhi was surprised to see the former Minister of Trade, Tom Lembong was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison by the Corruption Court, Central Jakarta.
It was said Eko, the former Jokowi trusted person had no evil intentions or got the flow of money to a private pocket.
“There is no flow of money. The sugar import process is also still running the same way until now,” Eko said on his personal Facebook (7/20/2025).
Eko said, just because Tom was no longer a line with Jokowi, choosing a way with Anies Baswedan, he suddenly became a victim of criminalization.
“The law is a means of criminalization. As a people I am confused. Can only stroke the chest. I don’t know whose chest,” he said.
Previously, Tom Lembong was finally sentenced to a verdict in the alleged corruption of sugar imports.
The decision was read directly by the Panel of Judges of the Central Jakarta Corruption Court (Corruption Court), which stated that Tom was considered legally and convincingly guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption.
On that basis, the man who had served in the era of President Jokowi was sentenced to prison for 4 years and 6 months and was fined Rp. 750 million, with the provision of a substitute for 6 months if it was not paid.
“Improved the defendant against the defendant, therefore with a imprisonment for 4 years and 6 months and a fine of Rp750 million in 6 months imprisonment,” said the Chief Judge, Dennie Arsan Fatrika, while reading the verdict in the Corruption Court Room, Friday (7/18/2025) night.
