Divpropam Polri secure members of the Barracuda driver Brimob who was led by Ojol when chaotic in the DPR

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Head of the Police Professional and Security Division (Propam), Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim, said that members of the Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade who drove Barracuda tactical vehicles to run over the online motorcycle taxi driver (Ojol) had been secured.

“Of course, at this time we have secured the perpetrators who are currently temporary in the examination process carried out by the combined,” Abdul Karim said, Friday, August 29, 2025.

He mentioned that a total of seven members were secured. They were personnel who were in the tactical vehicle when the incident occurred. Because it was still in intensive examination, Abdul Karim claimed not to be able to submit further details.

“But we will do this handling directly under my control, namely Divpropam Police Headquarters in collaboration with the Brimob Corps. At present the perpetrators have been secured and in the framework of the inspection process,” he said.

Previously, the incident was viral on social media after circulating videos of men in the online motorcycle taxi jacked by Barracuda Brimob during the demonstration in front of the DPR/MPR RI building, Thursday, August 28, 2025. One of the X accounts, @nchupakabr50581, uploaded a video showing the victims being hit and crushed by tactical vehicles when the authorities tried to dissolve the masses.

In the video, the car stopped for a moment after crashing into the victim, then returned to run over his body. Seeing the incident, the masses who originally ran fearful actually chased back and damaged the tactical vehicle. (bs-zak/dawn)
