Allegations of corruption in the distribution of fictitious credit in South Sulawesi and Sulbar, two banks were burglarized Rp34.9 billion

FAJAR.CO.ID, MAKASSAR – Allegations of corruption in the distribution of bank fictitious credit apparently not only in Makassar City, apparently also revealed at the Regional Development Bank (BPD) of South Sulawesi Polewali Mandar Branch (Polman).

Recently, investigators from the Special Prosecutors’ Special Crimes (Kejati) Sulbar arrested a suspect in a case of alleged corruption in the granting of investment credit facilities (KI) and working capital loans (KMK).

The suspect, known to have the initials AF, was a former credit analyst at Bank Sulselbar, Polman Branch in 2021.

In this case, AF is suspected of having an important role in engineering credit application documents on behalf of UD Fiwiwa.

AF was allegedly compiling internal financial statements or in-house reports that did not reflect the actual condition.

In fact, the revenue in the report was also manipulated so that the credit application seemed feasible and qualified.

“AF is also suspected of collecting and compiling documents as a complete requirement so that the credit application is approved,” said Head of the West Sulawesi Attorney General, Andi Darmawangsa, during a press conference at the West Sulawesi Attorney Office, yesterday.

As a result of this act, the state suffered a loss of Rp28.4 billion. This figure refers to the audit results from the Republic of Indonesia Supreme Audit Board (BPK RI).

To speed up the investigation process, West Sulawesi Attorney General’s investigators immediately detained AF suspects. The detention was carried out for the next 20 days in the Mamuju Class IIB Detention Center, starting from Thursday, July 10, 2025.

In this case, AF was charged under Article 2 paragraph (1) of the subsidiary Article 3 jo. Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 JO. Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
