It’s heating up! Gus Yahya’s turn to fire the Secretary General and General Treasurer of PBNU

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The chaos within the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) seems to be getting hotter. Mutual fire is now starting to happen.

After circulating circular letter 4785/PB.02/A.II.10.01/99/11/2025 which confirmed that KH Yahya Cholil Staquf was no longer the General Chair of PBNU, now it was Gus Yahya’s turn to dismiss certain positions at PBNU.

The difference is that Gus Yahya’s dismissal from office was accompanied by the assignment of a new position. Structural overhaul after issuance of statement letter number 4792/PB.23/A.II.07.08/99/11/2025.

Gus Yahya in his latest letter removed Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul from his position as Secretary General of PBNU. The man who currently serves as Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) was then given the task of Chair of PBNU in the fields of Education, Law and Media.

The strategic position of Secretary General of PBNU has now been handed over to Amin Said Husni, who previously served as the waketum of the organization.

Gus Yahya in statement letter number 4792/PB.23/A.II.07.08/99/11/2025 also removed Gudfan Arif as PBNU General Treasurer. Gudfan was then moved to become Chairman of the PBNU for Welfare and the general position was occupied by Sumantri Suwarno.

Meanwhile, the decision to remove Gus Ipul came after the Tanfidziyah Daily Meeting chaired by Gus Yahya. It is known that three agendas were discussed at the meeting, namely the NU 2025-2050 work plan, performance and program evaluation, and others.
