Sri Mulyani was described as a statement about the teacher’s burden teacher was a hoaks, say the result of Deepfake

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Criticized by various circles of his statement that called teachers as a burden on the state, Minister of Finance (Minister of Finance) Sri Mulyani Indrawati finally opened the vote.

Regarding the viral video circulating related to his statement, Sri Mulyani stressed that the video circulating in the community was a lie alias hoaks.

“The circulating video pieces that show as if I declare that the teacher as a burden on the state is a hoaks,” Sri Mulyani said through his personal social media account, Tuesday (8/19).

“In fact, I have never stated that the teacher is a burden on the country,” he added.

The treasurer of this country emphasized that the video that described the teacher was made by Deepfake which was deliberately cut by individuals. Indeed the video was sourced from his speech at the Indonesian Science, Technology and Industrial Convention Forum at ITB on August 7, 2025.

“The video is the result of Deepfake and the incomplete pieces of my video,” he said.

Sri Mulyani invites all parties to be wise in using social media, so that no party is harmed. “Let’s be wise in social media,” he said.

Previously at the Indonesian Science, Technology and Industrial Convention Forum at ITB on August 7, 2025 Sri Mulyani mentioned the low awards for educators and lecturers in Indonesia.

“Many on social media I always say, being a lecturer or being a teacher is not appreciated because the salary is not big, this is one of the challenges for state finances,” Sri Mulyani said in his remarks.
