The Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh issued the latest announcement following heated conditions in the Middle East (Middle East) after Iran was attacked by the United States (US) and Israel. Indonesian citizens (WNI) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, are asked to increase vigilance.
“Remain calm and don’t panic, but always increase awareness of developments in the situation around your respective domiciles,” wrote the Instagram account of the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh, as seen, Saturday (28/2/2026).
The Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh also asked Indonesian citizens to report themselves to the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh. Indonesian citizens are encouraged to join the official WhatsApp group of Indonesian citizens’ associations in their respective regions, to facilitate coordination and convey important information from the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh.
“Prepare and store important documents such as passports, iqama and other identity documents in physical and digital form that are easy to access if needed at any time,” wrote the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh.
The Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh also appealed to Indonesian citizens to postpone travel to countries that could potentially be affected by the Iran and US-Israel conflict.
“Postpone non-urgent travel to countries or regions that have the potential to be affected by an escalation of the security situation. For Indonesian citizens who have flight plans, they should immediately contact the airline to get the latest information regarding flight schedules and status,” wrote the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh.
“In an emergency, Indonesian citizens can contact the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh hotline on Whatsapp number +966 569173990,” he continued.
The US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iranian territory on Saturday morning Iran time. The attack claimed it eliminated the threat posed by the Iranian regime.
Separate video statements have been released by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump, who also signaled support for government change efforts in Tehran.
Iran called the attack a violation of its sovereignty. The military vowed to retaliate and launched a counteroffensive. Iran then launched a retaliatory attack targeting a number of US military bases in the Middle East.
A series of explosions rocked a number of Gulf Arab countries where United States (US) military bases are located on Saturday (28/2) local time. Starting from Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, to Kuwait all reported a series of explosions after the US and Israel attacked Iran.
