Latest News: Man in Asahan Kills His Own Wife, Claiming the Victim Fell from a Motorcycle

A man with the initials MA (29) in Asahan Regency, North Sumatra (North Sumatra) was arrested by the police on suspicion of killing his wife, with the initials AIP (20). The perpetrator had argued that his wife died after falling from the motorbike.
“Initially the perpetrator did not admit his actions and said the victim died because he fell from a motorbike,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Asahan Police, AKP Imanuel P. Simamora as reported by detikSumut, Tuesday (3/2/2026).
Police became suspicious after finding bruises on the victim’s body. After further examination, the injuries on the victim’s body were determined to be the result of abuse.
“Officers saw abrasions and bruises on the victim’s body. Then the victim was taken to Kisaran Regional Hospital for an autopsy,” he said.

Based on the results of the examination and testimony from witnesses, the Supreme Court finally admitted his actions. Currently, the perpetrator is being detained at the Asahan Police. The police also secured a number of pieces of evidence for further investigation.
For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 458 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2), subsidiary Article 466 paragraph (3) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2023 concerning criminal acts of murder and/or abuse resulting in death.
