FAJAR.CO.ID, LUWU – The road blockade to the PT Masmindo Dwi Area mines was carried out by a number of residents of Rante Balla Village, Latimojong District, Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi).
The incident turned out to have been going on since Saturday (6/21). The blockade was carried out by residents as a form of protest because the land they claimed to belong to the family had not yet received compensation from the company.
The representative of the NE ‘Pong Titin family family, Jumiati, explained that the main reason for this action was a unilateral claim from the company to the land they had been controlling for generations.
Residents build tents in the main access to the mining area and cross three cars in the middle of the road. As a result, activity
Mining and employee mobilization are completely disrupted.
“And to the top to the grave location at that time we were not permitted. Because we were not permitted, so we stayed here to make a portal, anyone could not pass through this location,” he said, launching the local media of Luwu Raya.
Residents asserted they had proof of land ownership and stated that their ancestral tombs were in disputed land.
Until this news was published, PT Masmindo has not provided an official statement related to the compensation demands. (BS-Sam/Dawn)
